How do you expect kids to listen to their parents when…

* Tarzan lives half naked,

* Cinderella comes home at midnight,

* Pinocchio lies all the time,

* Aladdin is the king of thieves,

* Batman drives at 200 km/h,

* Romeo and Juliet commit suicide out of love,

* Harry Potter uses witchcraft,

* Mickey and Minnie are more than just friends,

* Sleeping Beauty is lazy,

* Dumbo gets drunk and hallucinates,

* Scooby Doo gives nightmares,

* and Snow White lives with 7 guys.

We shouldn’t be surprised when they misbehave, they get it from their storybooks and cartoons which “we” provide them…

We should instead be teaching them stories like

* Abu Bakr (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)’s loyalty and undying service for his master,

* ‘Umar bin Khattaab (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)’s love for justice and tolerance,

* ‘Uthmaan bin ‘Affaan (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)’s level of shyness and modesty,

* ‘Ali bin Abi Taalib (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)’s show of courage and bravery,

* Khalid bin Waleed (radhiyallahu ‘anhu)’s desire of combating evil,

* Faatimah bint Muhammad (radhiyallahu ‘anha)’s love and respect to her father,

* Salaahuddeen Ayyoobi (rahimahullah)’s conquest of the promised land, and much much more to tell about…

Those children who are raised under the correct supervision of their parents, are imbued with the correct understanding of deen, good character and polite speech.
Those that are sent to Modern Kuffar type school, there is a tendency to drift away from deen and ultimately their beliefs, character, morals and actions become corrupt and they become averse to the laws of Allah تعالى and the noble sunnat of Nabi صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَم.
