UPDATE ON CONVOY OF ISLAM

Alhamdulillah, we wish to thank the Muslim Community of South Africa for the overwhelming response to our call to join ‘The Convoy of Islam’, in opposition to the Muslim Marriages Act.
Regrettably, the Traffic Department has not granted consent to our request. They will be unable to cope with the volume.
Allah Raabul Izzat rewards according to intention, and we are certain that all those who had applied to participate will be fully rewarded in this world and the Aakhirah. Your names will be listed amongst those who had stood up for the Haqq.
Insha-Allah we are looking at other suitable alternatives to make out voices known to the government.
If you have not as yet written to the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, rejecting the MMB, you still have time until the end of business tomorrow (31st May 2011). Your submission should be short and simple, without being harsh. You may use the following as your guidelines. In fact, you may copy and paste it and send from your email:
I am not in favour of the Muslim Marriages Bill. I humbly request the South African Government not to proceed with the MMB as it will cause immense hurt and divisions not only between the Muslim Community but between the Government and those Muslims who believe the MMB to be contrary to the Divine Laws.
I, as a Muslim citizen of this country, reject the Muslim Marriages Bill, because The Bill discriminates against Muslims and is also unconstitutional.
It curtails and restricts our freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
This Bill transmogrifies our Shariah and is an insult to the Qur`aan Majeed and Sunnah.
