Talaaq-e-sareeh

Question: What is a talaaq-sareeh?

Answer: It is when on tells his wife explicitly that he has given her a talaaq. In this instance if he makes rujoo’ or takes her back by saying that I have taken you back as my wife, then the talaaq is revoked and they are still married. If he did not revoke the talaaq before he iddat expires, to get together, they will have to re-marry.
