The Imam commenced whilst I was in nafl

Question: I was in Nafl Salaat and the Imam commenced his Salaat. I therefore ended my salaat after two rak’aat. Was this correct?
Answer: Yes this was correct. If you are in nafl salaat and the Imam commences the Jamaat, you should terminate your salaat at two rak’aat if you are before two and complete the salaat if you were after two. If you terminated before two, you have to make qadhaa of the two only.
