Bakr’s son damaged Zaid’s horse’s eye

Question: Zaid had a horse, which he used for going to Masjid. One day his horse walked to Bakr’s house. Bakr’s na-baaligh child through mud at it, and as a result the horse lost it’s eye. Bakr says that it is not his responsibility since he was not there and the child is immature. What is the ruling? Is Bakr reponsible for damages?

Answer: Yes, Bakr is responsible for the damage done to the horse’s eye by his son. The damage cost to be payed to Zaid is a quarter of the price of the horse.
