Imaam Shaafi’ (Rahmatullahi alaih) said: “Whatever mu’jizah [miracle] Allah Ta’ala gave any Nabi, He gave it to Rasoolullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam).” Amr bin Sawaad asked: “Hazrat Iesa (Alaihis Salaam) was given the mu’jizah of bringing the dead back to life!” (Apparently Rasoolullah Sallallahu alaihi wasallam was not given this miracle.) Imaam Shaafi’ responded: “The tree trunk which Rasoolullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) would lean on when delivering his khutbah, wept when the mimbar was made and it [the tree trunk] was separated from Nabi (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam). (Life was created in the wood; an inanimate object. This resembles the mu’jizah of Hazrat Iesa (Alaihis Salaam) of bringing the dead back to life.).”
