Those who love sleep or are kings of sleep say that we will fast without partaking in Sehri, but this is a great deprivation because Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) said:

“VERILY ALLAH SENDS HIS MERCIES AND THE ANGELS MAKE DU’AA OF FORGIVENESS FOR THOSE WHO PARTAKE IN SEHRI. “

This is a marvellous system of the Mercy of Allah; the person is enjoying Sehri and at the same receiving Divine Mercies and Du’aa of forgiveness from the angels!

At the time of Sehri Shaytaan instils this fear that how will you manage for the entire day, you will not be able to eat till Maghrib, so eat heavily, fill your first and second floor, and don’t forget your basement, irrespective of whether you suffer from acidy burps throughout the day!

Do not overeat, trust in Allah and eat so much that can be easily digested. This will result in adequate strength for the body.  I am telling you through experience that those who overeat with the idea that they will not feel hungry the whole day, experience more weakness and lethargy, their stomachs are upset, they suffer from acidy burps and feel extremely weak.

If it was necessary to eat so much then Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) would have made it compulsory (Waajib) upon us. So don’t overindulge in the Sunnah (of Sehri) that you become gluttonous.

This Sunnah (of Sehri) can be achieved by just eating a date and drinking some water. If there is nothing to eat for Sehri or a person does not feel like eating, then the Sunnah can be fulfilled by just having a gulp of water. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi wa Sallam) made this Sunnah so easy so why do you burden yourself? Trust in Allah and Allah Ta’aala will make the fast easy, so do not panic.
