Baatil is a Grave Matter

Imaam Shaafi’ (Rahmatullahi alaih) said: “Apart from shirk [polytheism-assign partners to Allah Ta’ala] every sin can hopefully be forgiven. However, deviation [that is, straying from Siraatul Mustaqeem; taking to the path of baatil and falsehood] is a grave matter.”

In other words, taking to baatil is an invitation to the wrath of Allah Azza Wa Jall and a ticket to Jahannam.
