URGENT ANNOUNCEMENT.

The PEPUDA Amendment Bill which government is trying to push through, will take away religious freedom.

SOUTH Africans are fac­ing the great­est threat to their re­li­gious free­dom yet in the form of the Pro­mo­tion of Equal­ity and the Preven­tion of Un­fair Dis­crim­i­na­tion (Pepuda) Amend­ment Bill.

This bill, which seeks to amend the Equal­ity Act, con­tains pro­vi­sions that will over­ride and tram­ple on our con­sti­tu­tional rights to free­dom of re­li­gion, be­lief and opin­ion, free­dom of ex­pres­sion and free­dom of as­so­ci­a­tion.

It will em­power the state to tell peo­ple and in­sti­tu­tions of faith what to be­lieve (in­clud­ing what they may and may not say, and may and may not do) and how to run their in­ter­nal af­fairs.

The bill will also af­fect NGOs and busi­nesses.

This Bill will make a target of every person and institution of faith and lead to a flood of litigation and punitive sanctions against them (including fines, even jail time or closure of religious institutions), simply for expressing and practising their religious beliefs!

All religious leaders and people of faith in South Africa to be informed of the severe threat and to push back against this draconian law!

TAKE ACTION:

– Send in a submission – we need as many as possible to be sent in BEFORE WEDNESDAY, 30 JUNE 2021!
