How We Ignored Allah Ta’ala’s Warnings
Bismillahir Rahmaanir Raheem

Allah Ta’ala says in the Qur’aan-e-Kareem:
وَمَا ٱلنَّصۡرُ إِلَّا مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡعَزِیزِ ٱلۡحَكِیمِ
There is no help except from Allah, The Most Powerful, The Most Wise
We are now at that point which many, many Ulama had warned us about. They were ignored, worse than ignored, mocked at. Worse than mocked at, they set other people against these Ulama who were merely trying to pass on the message of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.
And what was that message? That message was this here, that if you are disobedient into Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, a time will come that Allah’s punishment will overtake the community.
It was explained that Allah had sent many messages wherein his displeasure and his anger was made apparent. And the last ten years, since world cup, call it from there.
We had the worst drought in centuries in South Africa. Lands were parched, the animals were dying out of thirst. Dams reached a 15-17% capacity. The Vaal dam, there were fish floating, dead, due to lack of water. It happened in the last few years. We didn’t heed that warning.
Cape Town went to day zero in the water crisis. We refused to take a lesson.
The skies were there, we looked up to the skies, there were no clouds. The rainy months went without much rain coming down.
We ate, we drank, we talked, we laughed, we carried on as if the earth belonged to us.
Thereafter, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala sent another message. Allah Ta’ala sent a second message.
Do you remember the wild fires ravaging the Cape? Right from Knysna up to almost Port Elizabeth. That fire was so huge, I remember the headline, “Paradise has turned into hell”. Animals died, trees burnt, shrubs burnt, mountains burnt. It spread and spread and spread. Allah was giving us a message, You are not living in your own domain. You are in the domain of Allah. If you are not going to desist, Allah’s punishment is going to befall you. We ignored it, we carried on. Life carried on, braais carried on on, weddings carried on, celebrations carried on, Masaajid were as empty as ever, the Deen was manipulated and mutilated as before.
Came Ramadhaan, Deen turned into entertainment and nights turned into entertainment-filled nights, competitions aired on so-called Islamic radio stations, radio stations vied with one another for increase in listeners, sports carried on, in the background the Masaajid were crying, were are the ones who were supposed to fill me?
Then came another message. It came last year, March. They called it Corona Virus.
Allahu Akbar! What a mockery of the message of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. We closed the Masaajid five days before the government announced and compelled us citizens, we can understand something being done under compulsion.
Five days! Do you know what is one Salaah? One Salaah, one Ruku, one Sajdah of one Salaah, to Allah, the King of kings. We closed the Masaajid. Suspend the Salaah. Close the Masaajid. We took pride! We were proudful about it.
Wallah, in history those five days surely ranks amongst the top in the turning point for the destruction that we are now facing.
Five days of daily Salaah! The worth of one Salaah with Jamaat in the Masjid, the Masaajid, the Masaajid are not till the roof, the Masaajid extends right to the skies, above the skies, right to the Arsh of Allah Ta’ala, it connects to the Arsh of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. That’s why you cannot build a shop on top of the Masjid. The Masjid claws it way to the very core of the earth. Even if the Masjid takes the form of a shack, it is so sacred, it extends to the core of the earth.
No one can own it, no one can rent it, no one can barter it, no one can take ownership of it, yet we had people, Ulama, Maulanas, the way they behaved and the way they made fancy announcements, as a nation we will rise and as a nation we will stand, you thought the Masjid belonged to you? You thought you were the owner of the Masjid? Five days before government closed the Masjid, unilaterally, without consulting the broad spectrum of Muslim organisations, to appease the president of the country, don’t worry Mr President, I’ve got the Muslim with me, I’ll get the Masaajid closed. Today where are those people? Where are those people? Where are those people? Did you close the Masjid? Do you know what you closed besides the Masjid?
They chased away the Malaa-ikah, they chased away the angels who record the people who are coming to the Masjid.
How they must be loathing you? Forget humans loathing you, the Malaa-ikah must be loathing you, hating you, that I as an angel, my duty was to be in the Masjid, to record the names of people sitting in the Masjid, to be amongst them. The Malaa-ikah actually miss the people who regularly come to the Masjid.
Wallah! We sinned. Wallah! You can justify whatever you want to, but you can never ever justify that crime!
And worse than that, you joined the Kuffar court, you said keep the Masjids closed!
You think the government is going to help you today? Do I think or do we really think that government is going to help us with the army? You think the army can do anything that is against the decree of Allah? Think again! Think again!
We thought the army that we are looking up to is coming, they are turning around and they are the one’s that are being unleashed by Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.
What did you do to the Masjid? What did you do to the Azaan? What did you do to the Iqaamah in the Masjid? What did you do to the Mimbar of the Masjid? What did you do to the door of the Masjid? Every brick has a case against those who closed the Masjid.
But Allah is very forgiving. Allah tells us in the Qur’aan-e-Kareem:
Say O Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam unto my servants who have wronged themselves, don’t despair of Allah’s mercy.
Those same people, an appeal is being made to them, make Tawbah! Make sincere Tawbah! What are you going to lose?
Make a public announcement, we did wrong, that five days I’m speaking about, specifically about those five days, O Allah! I did wrong, I did such a sin, I wish I wasn’t born, to have made that particular decision and announcement, that Your House must be closed, forgive me, Ya Allah.
May Allah forgive us, we have got our sins, we are not holier than anyone else. Infact, we have to make even more Twbah that we didn’t strive hard enough to convince people.
So let that be a starting point. Whoever, wherever we are, that first we go to the Masjid, go to the Masjid, go to the Masjid. Ask Allah to forgive us.
This is Your House, we made a lot of Zulm. Besides the five days, we never came to Your House when Hayya Alal Salaah, Hayya Alal Falaah was called. Come to Salaah, come to success. We refused to come to success. Now the bitter fruits of our disobedience is facing us.
May Allah grant us Tawfeeq, grant Aafiyat to everyone.
Wa Aakhirud Da’waana A’nil Hamdulillahi Rabbil Aa’lameen.
