The Month of Dhul Qa’dah
Dhul Qa’dah is the first of the four sacred months (Al-Ashur Al-Hurum). The other three are Dhul-Hijjah, Muharram and Rajab, all of which are mentioned in Sura Tawba of the Holy Qu’ran (Chapter 9, Verse 36) specifically, Allah Ta’ala warned us from doing injustice to ourselves during these months.
The name Dhul Qa’dah could be translated loosely as the month of sitting, or settlement, as it is the month when people cease fighting each other in wars.

Dhul Qa’dah is the eleventh month of the Islamic Calendar. It is a month amongst the months of Hajj.

Dhul Qa’dah is the second last month of Islamic calendar. It is taken from the word “Qa’ada” which means to sit.
This is the third holy month in which battling was illegal.
The individuals additionally used to stop their personal and business activities amid this month and sit and get ready for the Hajj (Pilgrimage).

Events that took place during the month of Dhul-Qa’dah:

1) The battle of Khandaq (trench) or Ahzaab took place in 5 A.H.
2) Truce (Treaty) of Hudaibiyah in 6 A.H
3) 6 A.H, Bay’at ur Ridhwaan (The oath of allegiance taken under the tree taken to avenge the death of Uthmaan [radiyallahu anhu])
4) The return to Makkah for the performance of Umrah by the Nabi [Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam] and his Sahaabah [radiyallahu anhum]) in 7 A.H.
