Rights of the Road…

Hazrat Abu Sa’eed RadhiyAllahu anhu relates that Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said:
Refrain from sitting on the streets (public places).
The Sahaabah RadhiyAllahu anhum submitted:
O Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam! We have no other alternative.
There is no other place where we can sit and discuss matters.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said: If it is so, then discharge the rights of the street.
The Sahaabah asked as to what are the rights of the street.
Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wa Sallam said:
Lowering the gaze, removing obstacles, replying to the Salaam, enjoining good and forbidding evil.
