The Honor of Abu Bakr and His Family
One of the many amazing things about Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه is that he has the distinction and honor of having in his family FOUR generations of Sahaba!
1. Abu Quhafa, the father of Abu Bakr, became a Sahabi when he became Muslim as a very old, blind man during فتح مكة (the Conquest of Makka).
2. Abu Bakr himself was the first free man to become Muslim, of course. First free male Sahabi.
3. His sons and daughters, like `Aisha bint Abi Bakr, Asma bint Abi Bakr, Abdurrahman ibn Abi Bakr, were Sahaba.
4. His grandson, Abdullah ibn Az-Zubayr, was the first Muslim baby boy to be born in Madina after the Hijra. He was taken to Rasul Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم , who was very happy at his birth and held him in his blessed arms.
Four generations of Sahaba in one family! No other family can claim such a distinction mashaAllah.
