A Jew is blessed with Islam on account of tending to Rasulullaah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم

Hadhrat Anas bin Maalilk رضي الله عنه narrates that a young Jewish youth by the name of Abdul Quddoos would tend to Rasullullah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم

One day he became ill and Rasullullah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم went to see him and sat near his head, urging him to embrace Islam.

The youth looked to his father, who said, “Obey whatever Abul Qaasim رضي الله عنه says.” The youth then accepted Islam and Rasullullah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم said after leaving, “All thanks is to ALLAAH, who saved this youth

from the fire of Jahannam.” (Saheeh Bukhaari Hadeeth: 1340 Page: 181)

Through the blessings of attending to Rasullullah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم, ALLAAH Ta’ala favoured this Jewish youth with Islam. The service one renders to the friends of ALLAAH and pious is not

without benefit and on account of it will bestow upon a person the favours of this world and Aakhirah. The inner and outer self will become cleansed and inevitably praiseworthy traits will become one’s second nature.

A person said quite accurately,

“Good company will make one good and bad company will make one bad”

One also learns from this incident that if an understanding child does not embrace Islam then he will be punished as Rasullullah صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم said regarding this youth, “All thanks is to ALLAH, who saved this youth from the fire of Jahannam.”

One also learns that a person should visit his non-muslim neighbour when he falls ill so that he can see the beauty of Islam and thus become a means of him embracing Islam.

This also proves that a person can take service from a disbeliever and from a child, and that it is correct to invite an understanding child towards Islam.
