Hadhrat Suhaib Ibn Sinan رضي الله عنه narrates that the messenger of Allah Ta’laa صلى الله عليه و سلم said:

” Truly excellent is the situation of a believer! Everything is advantageous to him and this is enjoyed by none except him. When he experiences happiness, he expresses gratitude and it is to his benefit. When he experiences distress, he endures it and it is to his advantage” (Muslim)

و عن أبي يحى صحيب بن سنان رضي الله عنه قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه و سلم

عجبا لامر المؤمن إنّ أمره كلّه له خير و ليس ذالك الا للمؤمن إن اصابته سرّاء شكر فكان خيرا له

و إن أصابته ضرّاء صبر فكان خيرا له

رواه مسلم

Profile Of The Narrator, The Honourable Companion Of Nabi Muhammed صلى الله عليه و سلم

Name: Suhayb Ibn Sinan رضي الله عنه

Background: Known as al-Rumi because the Romans imprisoned him when he was young and he grew up amongst them. A person from the tribe of Banu Kalb purchased him and brought him to Makkah Mukkarramah. Abdullah ibn Jad’an al-Taymi then purchased him and freed him. He stayed in Makkah Mukarramah as a trader and later accepted Islam

He migrated to Medinah Munnawwarah with Hadhrat Ali Ibn Abi Talib رضي الله عنه

He participated in all expeditions with the Messenger of Allah Ta’laa صلى الله عليه و سلم

Hadhrat Umar Ibn Khattab رضي الله عنه had great love for him and held him in high regard. When Hadhrat Umar رضي الله عنه was stabbed, he advised that the salaah should be lead by Hadhrat Suhayb رضي الله عنه

Passed away: In Medina Munawwarah in the 38th Hijri
