The Second Intifada started on 28 September 2000, after Ariel Sharon, a Likud party candidate for Israeli Prime Minister, made a visit to the Temple Mount, also known as Al-Haram Al-Sharif, an area sacred to both Jews and Muslims, accompanied by over 1,000 security guards. He stated on that day, “the Temple Mount is in our hands and will remain in our hands. It is the holiest site in Judaism and it is the right of every Jew to visit the Temple Mount.”
The Second Intifada ended in 2005. During the intifada, the Palestinian Authority, led by Yasser Arafat, was at war with #Israel and helping the people of the West Bank in their uprising against the occupation with all its capabilities.
After the Intifada and the death of Yasser Arafat, Mahmoud Abbas took the leadership of the Palestinian Authority(PA) and signed a security deal with Israel, where the PA agreed to suppress all Palestinians who executed any act of resistance against Israel, even with journalism and words, not just with armed resistance. Talking about resistance was punishable.
During this dark 2005 to 2021 period of silencing by the 70 000 soldiers of the PA , Israelis expanded their settlements in the West Bank exponentially and tightened the neck over Palestinians everywhere.
2021, Sword of Jerusalem : Similar to the first Intifada, the Resistance in #Gaza gave an ultimatum to Israel to stop raiding Al Aqsa Masjid and ethnically cleansing Jerusalem. Gazza initiated a war on Israel, by itself, to support the West Bank. This fused the fate of Gazza with the West Bank and sparked the flame of the West Bank youth who were humiliated during the dark period of 2005 to 2021.
Since then, youngsters took control of the refugee camps in Nablus, Jenin and Tulkarm and the PA lost all of its authority in these camps. The youngsters started the resistance by arming themselves (with basic weapons), creating IEDs from scratch and working on OPSEC [ Operational Security – a security and risk management process that prevents sensitive information from getting into the wrong hands] to hide themselves by always wearing masks/hiding faces to protect themselves from Israeli assassins.
#Israel called these 3 camps “The Triangle of Terror” and started raiding them since almost 2 years ago and assassinating the youth because they could not rely on the PA to suppress the uprisings.
Since October 7th, Israel has been raiding the three camps every single day in order to suppress the youth.
The most prominent youngsters that die while fighting the Empire troopers are seen as holy heroes by the people in these camps and each one that dies inspires others to continue their path to break free from the humiliation of the occupation
