No It is not proved to kiss the thumb when the name of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) is mentioned.
Question: Assalamualikum I want to know the names of the animals which Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam possessed. e.g camel, horse etc.
Answer: The name of she-camel of the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallah) was: Qaswa, as it is mentioned in a Hadith of Sahih Muslim:
ثم رکب القصواء حتی اذا استوت بہ ناقتہ علی البیداء (اخرجہ مسلم ، الحج، باب حجة النبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم، رقم 1218)
In some other traditions, there have been mentioned some other names as well like Jadaa and Azbaa.
The name of the his horse was: Lukhaif, as in Sahih Bukhari:
کان للنبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرساً یقال لہ: اللحیف۔ قال ابو عبد اللہ: وقال بعضھم: اللخیف (اخرجہ البخاری، الجھاد، باب اسم الفرس والحمار، رقم 2855)
While the name of donkey was: Ufair (Bukhari, 2856) Once the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) borrowed the donkey of Hazrat Abu Talha, its name was: Mandoob.

Question: A mother has passed away leaving husband, 3 sons, 1 daughter. How would her wealth be distributed?
Answer: If that woman left behind none among her father, mother, grandfather, grandmother or Nani and she left only husband, three sons and one daughter then in the question mentioned above all the property of the deceased person shall be divided into 28 shares, after paying due rights proceeding inheritance. Out of the total, the husband shall get seven shares, 6-6 shares shall go to each son while the daughter shall get 3 shares. The detail of Shariah division is as follows:
Husband: 1 x 7 = 7
Sons: 3 x 6 = 18
Daughter: 1 x 3 = 3
Total 28 shares
Question: The Imam of our mosque has said Pharaoh did not drown in Nile but in another river. It is wrong to say Nile. What is right? Please guide at best in the light of Shariah.
Answer:
Imam Sahib is correct. Pharaoh was not drowned in the Nile rather he was drowned in Bahr al-Qulzum (which is known as Red Sea) as well. As the Nile was located towards west of Banu Israel’s dwelling and locality and the route of Bani Israel for Syria was towards East and that route has nothing to do with the Nile. Bahr al-Qulzum (Red Sea) was located near the route from Egypt to Syria. (Tafsir Majidi, p: 27, Tafsir Surah Baqarah, verse 50, Qisas al-Quran, 1: 357)
Question: If the wife left her husband’s home for some reason (domestic problem) and after three months the husband issues a Talaaq – when does the Iddat begin?
Answer: Iddat will commence only upon the husband issuing the divorce. The period of separation from the husband will not be regarded as Iddat.
Question: I want to know “Can males wear white gold (platinum) instead of gold” (I am not sure whether white gold and platinum is the same thing or not…that’s why i am asking this question)
Answer. It is not permissible for males to use rings of any metal, gold, platinum, etc. However, a silver ring equivalent to 4.5 Mashas (67.5 grains troy) is permissible.
Question: What is the basic regard concerning women shaping their eyebrows in Islam?
Answer: No, it is not permissible for females to pluck their eyebrows. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) cursed a Mutanammisa (a female who seeks to remove her eyebrows).
Question: There is a general perception that the months of Muharram and Safar have an evil in them and anything major done in these months, for example, purchasing a business, house, making Nikah, etc. is unsuccessful. Kindly explain if the perception is correct or not according to Shari’ah.
A: To regard the Islamic months of Muharram and Safar as ‘unlucky’ months and suspend important matters with the fear of them being unsuccessful was the belief of the pre-Islamic era. Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) condemned this belief. Hadhrat Abu Hurayra (Radhiallaahu Anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) said, “There is no bad omen.” (Mishkat pg.391) In another narration, it is recorded, “There is no (bad omen) in (the month of) Safar”. (Ibid)
