We Muslims should not celebrate Christmas
Reading Time: < 1 minute
“Refrain from celebrating with the enemies of
Allah on their festive days”
– Sayyiduna ‘Umar (Radiyallahu ‘anhu)
We Muslims should not celebrate Christmas for a number of reasons, including:
- Theology
- In Islam, Jesus is a prophet and messenger, but not the Son of God, and believing he is a God is considered blasphemy.
- Monotheism
- Islam emphasizes Tawhid, the belief in the oneness of God, and rejects the deification of prophets.
- Imitation
- The Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu ‘Alayhi wa Sallam) explicitly instructed Muslims not to imitate Christians or Jews.
- Pagan customs
- Christmas traditions, such as Christmas trees, Santa Claus, and gift-giving, have roots in pagan customs that predate Christianity.
- Birthdays
- Muslims do not celebrate birthdays of Prophets, nor did the early Christians.
- Date
- The Bible and the Holy Quran affirm that Jesus wasn’t born on December 25.
X’mas
Xmas is truly wrong because ‘X’ stands for something that is wrong!
Some Muslims celebrate Christmas in certain ways, such as exchanging gifts, decorating a Christmas tree, or baking cookies. They may see it as a cultural event or a way to join in the happiness of their Christian friends.
THESE ARE ABSOLUTELY WRONG AND SINFUL ACTIONS!
