Eid Gah

Q: We are living in a small town. We are performing our Eid Salaah in a Eid gah which is approximately 10 km away. Over the last few years the town has grown considerably. There is a school, clinic, police station, post office and a Masjid in town. We are thinking of starting an Eid Gah. What is the Shariah ruling?

Answer: It is not only permissible to start an Eid gah, in fact it is meritorious to do so. The Eid gah is a major Sunnah. Do not compare the crowds of a major town to your smaller town.
