Laylatul Qadr-A Brief Explanation

Says Allah, the Most-High, “Do you know what is the night of Qadr (power)? The night of Qadr is better than a thousand months.”

A Brief Explanation

The one who spends this great night in some form of Ibaadat will receive the reward of spending a thousand months in Ibaadat! How easy the action? How great the rewards? Just by spending some extra time according to ones means, one will be recorded among spending a thousand years in Ibaadat! Allahu-Akbar!

This great night is a gift exclusive to the Ummah of Mahammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam. Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam used to narrate to the Sahaabah how long lives previous Ummats enjoyed. He once mentioned to them a person from among the Bani Israeel who waged Jihaad for one thousand months. On hearing this, the Sahaabah envied that person because they could not attain the same reward due to the shorter lifespan we have. As a recompense, Allah Ta’ala gifted tot his Ummah due to the lament of the Sahaabah.

Imagine what a close Ta’alluq (relationship) they had with Allah Ta’ala. How close were they to Allah Ta’ala. How much in love were they with Allah Ta’ala. That on the basis of their sadness, a whole Surah is revealed and named Suratul-Qadr!

Commenting with regards to this night, Nabi Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said, “Laylatul-Qadr was granted to my Ummah and NOT to any other Ummah before this.”
