Guidelines for the Masajid
- Forming of Saffs (lines) for Congregational Salaah.
“TARAAS-SOO!”
(Shoulder to shoulder – like a Solid steel wall)
(Hadith)
Rasulullah (ﷺ) warned that the effect of gaps in the saff is enmity in the hearts. Allah Ta’ala afflicts disunity among the musallis who are careless in this regard.
Sealing the gaps with shoulders is Waajib. It is haraam to leave gaps in the saff. For this very reason the ruling of the Shariah is that if a musalli arriving in the Musjid sees a gap in the first saff, then he has to pierce through the sufoof to reach the first saff in order to fill the gap thus preventing shaitaan from entering it.
Abu Dawood (666) narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Straighten the rows, stand shoulder to shoulder and fill the gaps; be gentle with their hands of your brothers, and do not leave gaps for the Shaytaan. Whoever connects a row, Allah will connect him (with His mercy), and whoever breaks a row, Allah will cut him off (from His mercy).”
Muslim (430) narrated that Jaabir ibn Samurah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came out to us and said: “Why do you not make your rows as the angels make their rows in the presence of their Lord?” We said: O Messenger of Allah, how do the angels make their rows in the presence of their Lord? He said: “They complete the first rows and they make the rows compact.”
The only gap you will have is between you and the saff in front of you. If a gap is found in the saff in front of you, fill that gap.
This is the Instruction and Desire of Our Beloved Nabi (ﷺ)
If you enter any Masjid and find that the Saffs are against the desire of our Beloved Nabi (ﷺ), then instead of joining and Disobeying and Disrespecting our Beloved Nabi (ﷺ), perform you own Salaah individually.
In future, frequent only those Masajid that cater for the Instruction of Nabi (ﷺ) in the forming of Congregations.
Your Lillah Masjid Contributions should be reserved for those Masajid which cater for the Instructions of Our Beloved Nabi (ﷺ).
*It is Haraam to debar any Muslim entry to the Masjid
- Sanitation:
- Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (رضي الله عنه) reports that Rasulullah (ﷺ) said:
“When one performs wudu at home and leaves for the masjid solely to offer salah [in congregation], for every step taken towards the masjid [in this state of wudu] one sin is forgiven, one reward accrued, and one stage is elevated in the Hereafter.” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith: 647 and Sahih Muslim 1504)
- Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (رضي الله عنه) reports that Rasulullah (ﷺ) said:
“One who performs wudu at home then proceeds to the masjid for fard salah secures the reward of a Haji in the state of ihram.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, Hadith: 559)
Washing with water or water and soap is far superior than the hand sanitizers available.
*ALL FORMS OF ALCOHOL ARE PROHIBITED
SANITIZATION OF THE MASJID MUST BE STRICTY NON ALCOHOLIC
One will certainly not present anything to a loved one, wrapped in offensive material. If one does, one cannot blame the beloved if it is thrown back at him.
Imagine now the Ummah is being asked to dip their hands in alcohol Before entering the Masjid!
- Personal Interaction:
Rasulullah Salalahu Alayhi Wasalam said, “A time will come upon the people that their talk in the Masjid will be their worldly matters. Do not sit with them, for Allah Ta’ala has no need for such people.”
(Shuabul Imaan)
In one hadith, Rasulullah Salalahu Alayhi Wasallam mentions 15 transgressions that will cause Allah’s punishment to befall the Ummah; “one of which is, When voices are raised in the Masjid.”
(Tirmidhi)
Another hadith states that when a person engages in worldly talk in the Masjid, an angel requests him , “Keep quiet, O friend of Allah”.
If he continues his worldly chatter the angel says , “Keep quiet O enemy of Allah.” If he still persists, the angel finally says, “Keep quiet, may Allah’s curse be upon you.”
(Takhrijul Ihya)
The only voices that should be heard in the Masjid is that of the Muazzin and the Imam. All other conversations are frowned upon.
Similarly, all distractions like cell phones should be switched off.
No Music and Picture Making in whatever form, be it the haraam ringtones or Videos should be tolerated or accepted in the Masjid.
- Time:
You are here as a guest and your Host is Allah Ta’ala.
This Masjid is a your safe haven. You are in the House of Your Creator. Spend as much time as you want in Communion with Him, through the various Ibadaat. However, please take care that your activities do not constitute disrespect to your Host!
Salaah should be performed normally. As long as time permits Sunnah and Nafl Salaah can be performed in the Masjid and tilawaat of Quraan Sharif.
Resort to Inaabat ilallaah, that is: Taubah (repentance), abstain from sin and futility, renew your pledge of obedience to the Shariah, and be concerned with Islaah of the Nafs (moral reformation). In this way should Muslims rectify their ruptured bond with Allah Ta’ala. Only then will Allah’s Nusrat be forthcoming.
Muslims should understand well that besides Allah Ta’ala there is no refuge for us. All over the world the nations are poised to swallow and destroy the Ummah.
“There is no help (for Muslims) except from Allah, The Mighty, The Wise.”(Qur’aan)
