The Dedication of Imām Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb رحمه الله to Ṣalah in Jamaʿah
One of the remarkable examples of devotion to the congregational prayer can be found in the life of the renowned scholar Imām Muḥammad ibn ʿAbd al-Wahhāb رحمه الله.
Shaykh Ibn Bishr رحمه الله records:
«❝Toward the end of his life, he had become physically weak. Nevertheless, he would go out to attend the congregational prayer, walking between two men for support, until he was positioned in the prayer row. He was 92 years old at the time.❞»
📖 ʿUnwān al-Majd fī Tārīkh Najd, 1/193
92 years old. Physically weak. Unable to walk without assistance. Yet he still made his way to the masjid for Ṣalāh in Jamāʿah.
This was not merely something he spoke about—it was something he lived.
How many of us are physically capable of walking to the masjid, yet allow laziness, worldly distractions, or a busy schedule to keep us away?
The lives of the scholars remind us that the value of Ṣalāh in Jamāʿah is not measured by convenience, but by devotion.
May Allah grant us the strength to establish the prayer, love the masjid, and remain steadfast upon obedience until our final breath.
اللهم أعنّا على ذكرك وشكرك وحسن عبادتك
O Allah, help us to remember You, thank You, and worship You in the best manner.
