The Ulama and Mercy

🔸️There is a perception amongst a few people that the Ulama are out to Condemn them for no reason other than for the sake of Condemnation. That the Ulama would like to see people going to Jahannum, and be deprived of the Mercy of Allah سبحانه و تعالى and that the Ulama are trying to make life difficult for us.

🔸️Wallah nothing can be further from the truth.

🔸️No true Muslim, let alone an Aalim, would want anyone to go into Jahannum.

🔸️The Ulama, as the Hadith of  Nabi ﷺ mentions,  are the Inheritors of the Ambiyaa عليه سلام.
“Al ulama oo warathatul ambiyaa”

🔸️Amongst the Ambiyya عليه سلام, the Greatest Nabi, was Nabi-e- Kareem ﷺ
Allah Ta’ala sent him as a Mercy unto Mankind, unto the entire Universe,
Nabi ﷺ was a source of Mercy,
Even to his enemies, the animals, the birds, the fish in the sea, to the Malaaika, to the Jinn.
Nabi ﷺ was the Personification of the Mercy of Allah سبحانه و تعالى.

🔸️How then could it ever be that those people who shoulder the same Mission of Nabi ﷺ,  how could it be that they would be desirous of anyone to enter Jahannum.

🔸️On the contrary, if we had to spend a few days amongst the Ulama of Haq, we will be amazed at the the amount of Mercy and Compassion that they have for the Creation of Allah سبحانه و تعالى.

🔸️Take the example of a person who’s extremely sick.
The family requires some support.
They call upon an Imaam or Aalim or Moulana of the locality.
I don’t think there’s a single Aalim out there who would say:
I’m very tired
I’m going to charge you a fee
You are inconveniencing me
You will find them always ready to serve the community

🔸️Likewise, when we look at the treatment that some Ulama suffer at the hands of the public, it is really heartbreaking.
After studying 7 years, dedicating their youth to learn the Ilm of the Qur’aan Kareem and the Sunnah of Nabi ﷺ,  many of them are paid a pittance. 6000-7000/month.
Let’s us ask ourselves,  very seldom we will find an Aalim abandoning his post solely due to the insensitivity of the community.
We’ll find them carrying on, slogging on.
They are also Human Beings at the end of the day.
Prior to lockdown, when there were these huge weddings, the Aalim was expected to officiate and perform the Nikaah.
The Nikaah generally would be on a Sunday around 12 o’ clock  or after Asr on Saturday.
We know of situations where the groom, etc, would be delayed.
The Aalim would sit patiently and wait in order to perform the Nikaah
Very seldom would we have found an Aalim walking away if they were not there on time. He also has a family life.

🔸️We need to appreciate the Righteous Ulama.
Their Hearts are very feeble.
They love the Creation of Allah Ta’ala.

🔸️A Great Pious Person, Bayaazid Bustaami رحمة الله عليه
He was not an Aalim but he was very Pious.
A natural or necessary component of Piety is to be soft hearted.
Some of the small children would imagine him to be mad.
At times they would throw stones at him for the sake of having fun.
He would keep quiet.
Obviously,  the stones would hurt him.
One specific day, he stopped and looked at the children,  with a smile on his face, he would tell them:
“If you have to throw stones, throw the small ones, not the big ones, because the big ones injure me, the blood flows and I have to make wudhu again, and it becomes inconvenient as many times I’m on my way to Salaah.
So throw the stones, no problem,  but throw the small ones

🔸️Allahu Akbar, so much Rahm in the Heart.

🔸️May Allah Ta’ala grant us the Tawfeeq to inculcate true  Piety, that our hearts may soften and melt in the love of the creation of Allah Ta’ala and the desire for the success of all of Allah Ta’ala’s creation. Not only Muslims but also non Muslims that they enter into the fold of Islam.
