THREE BOUNTIES AND THREE CALAMITIES

Hadhrat Shaqeeq Balkhi (rahmatullah alayh) said: “There are three bounties in poverty: An
unencumbered heart (a heart which is not burdened by worry); Peace and serenity; a light
reckoning (in the Aakhirah). On the contrary, there are three calamities of wealth: a heart
overwhelmed with worries of the world; lack of peace and tranquillity; a difficult reckoning (in
the Aakhirah).”
