A’ishah radiyallahu ‘anha

She is a very beloved wife of Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam. He married her while she was still a virgin. She was so learned that great Sahabah used to ask her questions. Once a Sahabi asked Rasulullah sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam: “Whom do you like the most?” He replied: “‘A’ishah.” This Sahabi then asked: “And from among the men?” He replied: “Her father.” That is, ‘Abu Bakr radiyallahu ‘anhu. Many other virtues have been mentioned in her favour.

Lesson: Look at her: despite her being a woman, great ‘ulama used to refer to her when they wanted to know any mas’ala. Today, let alone not having any knowledge, women do not even have the desire to ask the ‘ulama any questions nor do they have the desire to read any Islamic books. O women! Acquire knowledge of the Deen with full endeavour and zeal.
