The Ibaadat and Salaat of Imaam Shaafi’ (Rahmatullahi Alaih)

Husain Bin Ali Al-Karaabeesi says: “I spent eighty nights with Imaam Shaafi’. I observed that he spends approximately a third of the night in Ibaadat and Nawaafil. He would recite in one rakaat about fifty Aayaat, with khushoo’ [composure; serenity] and khuzoo’ [humbleness]. He would sob, plead and supplicate.”
