Harmalah Bin Yahya says: I heard Imaam Shaafi’ reciting this poem:
وَلَا تُعْطِيَنَّ الرَّأْيَ مَنْ لَا يُرِيْدُه فَلَا أَنْتَ مَحْمٌوْدٌ وَّلَا الرَّأْيَ نَافِعُه Do not express your viewpoint to one who does not want it You will not be praised and your viewpoint will not be of benefit.
