The Imaani Adhkaar: A Simple Deed, Endless Mercies – Sending Salawaat Upon Nabi ﷺ
Reading Time: < 1 minute

Ibraheem (AS) actually asked for our Nabi ﷺ long before he arrived:
“Our Rabb, Raise up among them a Messenger…” (2:129)
Centuries later, we honour that dua every time we recite Durood Ibraheem.
It links three hearts in one line:
- Ibraheem (AS) – the friend of Allaah.
- Muhammad ﷺ – the mercy to all creation.
- You – the believer who asks for the blessing.
Nabi ﷺ said,
“Whoever sends one salaah upon me, Allaah Sends ten upon him.” (Muslim)
That is ten acts of mercy, ten sins lifted, ten ranks raised, for a sentence that takes three seconds! Alhamdulillaah.
What does sending salawaat really give me?
- Durood reminds us that hidaayah reached us through the hardest life of the gentlest man. ﷺ
- Think of three recent worries. Reflect over the reality that every durood on our Nabi ﷺ invites ten mercies that can quietly solve what we fear.
- Which mercy from Ibraheem’s (AS) life do I want in my own life? Unshakeable tawheed? Strength in tests? Legacy through children? Make that your private niyyah after every durood Ibraheem you send.
- The more we send durood, the more we love our Habeeb ﷺ. And that brings us closer to Allaah and His ﷺ Rahmah.
Checklist:
- Set a small target for these days: 100 salawaat spread through the day, for example 20 after each fardh salaah.
- Become aware of empty moments. Pair durood with these times that would otherwise be empty: driving, cooking, rocking a baby.
- Before sleeping: send ten final salawaat to seal your day by honoring your Nabi ﷺ. Make dua:
Ya Allaah, as I remembered Your Beloved, Remember me in ways I can’t even imagine.
