Physical Features of NABI SALLALLAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM (Part 1)

Qadhi Iyaadh reported on the basis of his unbroken chain of transmission to Sayyidina Ali Bin Husain – the eminent Imaam Zainul Aabideen – that Sayyidina Hasan Bin Ali (Radhiyallahu anhuma) said:

“I asked my maternal uncle, Hind Bin Abu Haalah about the physical features of Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam). He would frequently describe him and I cherished the hope of clinging to the information he divulges. He thus described Rasulullah (Sallallahu alaihi wasallam) as follows:

1. Majestic/Noble

2. Esteemed

3. Having a face as radiant as the full moon

4. Above average height

5. Not lanky or a giant

6. Having a fairly large head

7. Fairly straight hair

8. If his hair became parted (when combing) then he would leave it parted. (This was his practice initially. Later on, he would intentionally part his hair in the middle.)

9. When he would let his hair grow it would reach below his earlobes.
