Imaam Shaafi’ (Rahmatullahi alaih) said: “During my life, thrice I went through hunger and poverty. We even sold the jewellery we had. But I never took a loan and left an item as surety.”
This shows Imaam Shaafi’s aversion for borrowing money. The Hadeeth Shareef also discourages begging.
