Giving naseehat [advice] to Younus Bin Abdul A’la, Imaam Shaafi’ (Rahmatullahi alaih) said: “You cannot reform every person. Therefore, engage in that work which is of good to you.”
In other words, do not preoccupy yourself with others. Your self-reformation comes first.
