Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said, “The Salaah performed after using the Miswaak is seventy times more rewarding than the Salaah performed without using the Miswaak.” (Musnad Ahmad #26340). As many as seventy benefits have been mentioned for using the Miswaak. One of them is that a person would remember to recite the Kalimah at the time of death.

The importance of Miswaak
(Reviving the blessed Sunnah)

Allamah Sha’rāni (Rahimahullāh) states that, Once Shaykh Abu Bakr Shibli (Rahimahullāh) was in need of a Miswaak at the time of Wudhu, he looked for one but could not find one. He spent a Dinār and bought one and used it.Many people regarded the spending of one dinār as extravagant. Shaykh Abu Bakr Shibli (Rahimahullāh) replied : The world and whatever it contains is lesser in status in the eyes of Allah Azzawajal than the wing of a mosquito. What answer will i give to Allah Azzawajal if i am asked ” Why did you leave out the Sunnah of Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) ? Why did you not spend the wealth and money I gave you (of which the value is less then that of the wing of a mosquito) in order to attain the Sunnah of Miswaak ?
