Bearing Witness to Sacrifice and the First Drop of Forgiveness

Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri رضي الله عنه reports that Nabi ﷺ told Fatimah رضي الله عنها , ‘Go to your sacrificial animal and witness it for all your past sins will be forgiven with the first drop of its blood that is spilt.’ She asked, O Messenger of Allah! Is this [reward] specifically for us the Ahlu Bayt or is it general for all the Muslims?’ Nabi ﷺ replied, ‘It is for us as well as all the Muslims,’”
