“Your application has been rejected..” Extract from Letters of Maulana Saeed Ahmed Khan Saheb Rahmatullahi Alaih
A brother in Pakistan, intending to spend time in the path of Allah, applied for a passport. His application was rejected repeatedly, with orders from higher authorities to deny him.
Yet, every 8 days, he returned to the passport office — hopeful, persistent, and unwavering.
The officials grew irritated:
“You’re still adamant after so many refusals?”
Eventually, one snapped:
“Your application has been rejected — why do you keep harassing us?”
The brother calmly replied:
“If I had applied considering you to be Allah, I would have never approached you. I believe Allah to be the true Allah – if He wills, I will get a passport.”
Moments later, the impossible happened:
An order was issued to grant him the passport.

The Power of Tawakkul (Trust in Allah)
This story isn’t just about persistence — it’s about Tawakkul, the Islamic concept of placing complete trust in Allah while still making effort.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, you would be given provision like the birds: they go out hungry in the morning and return full in the evening.”
(Tirmidhi)
This brother didn’t rely on the officials. He relied on the One who controls hearts, decisions, and outcomes.
🧘♂️ Lessons for Us
- Don’t confuse rejection with failure. Sometimes, it’s just a test of your resolve.
- Systems may say no, but Allah can say yes.
