There is no such thing as “Halal Friendly “

Praise be to Allah, and blessings and peace be upon the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Islam is a complete way of life that safeguards a believer’s faith, dignity, and conduct. Among its teachings is the clear prohibition of alcohol and avoidance of gatherings where sinful acts occur. The Qur’an warns:
“And if Shaytaan causes you to forget, then after the remembrance sit not in the company of those people who are the wrongdoers.” (Surah Al-An‘aam: 68)
Similarly, Rasulullah ﷺ emphasized:
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should not sit at a table where wine is being served.” (Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2801)
These instructions remind us that faith is not only about personal abstinence but also about avoiding environments that normalize sin. The following discussion highlights the severity of alcohol in Islam, its impact on society, and why concepts like “Halal Friendly” in venues serving alcohol contradict Islamic principles.
Sayyiduna Jabir (رضي الله عنه) reports that Rasulullah (ﷺ) said:
“…And whosoever believes in Allah and The Last Day should not sit at a table where wine/alcohol is being passed around”
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2801)
Based on this Hadith, the Fuqahaa (jurists) have ruled that it is not permissible to eat at a venue where alcohol is being served.
There is no such thing as ” Halal Friendly “
Sayyiduna Ma‘qil ibn Yasar رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ narrates that Rasullullah ﷺ said: “Anyone made responsible for the governance of the affairs of Muslims dies acting dishonestly towards them, Allah will forbid Paradise for him.” (Bukhari)
Narrated Mujahid رحمه الله تعالى : `Abdullah bin `Umar رضى الله تعالى عنهما said, “Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) took hold of my shoulder and said, ‘Be in this world as if you were a stranger or a traveler.” The sub-narrator added: Ibn `Umar رضى الله تعالى عنهما used to say, “If you survive till the evening, do not expect to be alive in the morning, and if you survive till the morning, do not expect to be alive in the evening, and take from your health for your sickness, and (take) from your life for your death.”

Sayyiduna ‘Imran ibn Husayn (رضي الله عنه) reported that Rasulullah (ﷺ) said:
“In this ummah, there will be people who will be sunk into the earth, people becoming disfigured and raining of stones. A Sahabi (رضي الله عنه) asked, “When will that be?” Nabi (ﷺ) said: “When singing girls and musical instruments become [common] and wine will be drunk.”
(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2212)
The Quraan Majeed states very clearly: “Liquor and gambling are filth from the actions of Shaytaan” (Surah Maa-idah 90)
Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam has declared liquor to be “The mother of vice.” (Majma’ul Kabeer 11498)
No Muslim, in his right frame of mind, will keep an empty alcohol can in his house. Neither will he allow his child to play with the same. No person of Imaan intentionally looks at or scans through alcohol adverts.
Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam said: “Allah has cursed wine, its drinker, its server, its seller, its buyer, its presser, the one for whom it is pressed, the one who transports it, and the one to whom it istransported.” (Abu Dawood #3674)
Islam does not only prohibit the consumption of alcohol but also forbids being in environments where it is served or normalized. The Qur’an and Sunnah emphasize that a believer must safeguard his faith by avoiding gatherings of sin and distancing himself from anything that leads to disobedience. Concepts like “Halal Friendly” in venues serving alcohol contradict these clear teachings.
As Muslims, we are reminded to live as travelers in this world, prioritizing our Hereafter over fleeting pleasures. Let us uphold the commands of Allah and the guidance of Rasulullah ﷺ by ensuring our choices reflect true obedience and sincerity.
May Allah grant us steadfastness and protect us from environments that compromise our Imaan. Aameen.
