A Powerful Du‘a for Anxiety, Grief and Hardship
![]()
Sayyidatuna Asma’ bint ‘Umays رضي الله عنها reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ taught this beautiful supplication:
اَللّٰهُ رَبِّيْ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ
Allahu Rabbi la sharika lahu
“Allah is my Lord, without any partner.”
These few words carry a powerful reminder. Allah is my Rabb. He is the One who created me, cares for me, sustains me, and controls all of my affairs. Whatever difficulty I am facing has not escaped His knowledge, nor is it beyond His power to remove.
When the heart is troubled, we often focus on the size of the problem. This du‘a redirects our attention to the greatness of Allah. Instead of saying, “My problem is too great,” the believer reminds the heart: “Allah is my Lord.”
So when anxiety weighs upon us, when grief enters our hearts, when illness comes, or when life becomes difficult, let us turn sincerely to Allah and repeat:
اَللّٰهُ رَبِّيْ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ
Allah is my Lord. He has no partner.
