Imaam Shaafi’ (Rahmatullahi alaih) said: “The position of ijma’ is greater than khabr-e-waahid.” [Ijma’ in the context of Imaam Shaafi’s statement, is the unanimity of the Sahaabah or Taabi’een on an issue, such as the ijma’ of the Sahaabah on twenty rakaats Taraaweeh Salaat.
