Passing the mayyit on like potatoes

Question: We witness at funerals that the mayyit gets passed on like a bag of potatoes. Is this the Sunnah method?

Answer: No, obviously not. Four people should carry the mayyit for forty steps and hands should be changed with another four people, and so on. This is the masnoon method.

If people are adamant to do it their way, just grab the janaazah and proceed. Do not allow them to do this bid’ah. This norm has to change.
