Q. My daughter is 18 months old and wears nappies.  She was sitting in her pram for quite a while and when I picked her up her pants were slightly damp. I was not sure if it was urine or perspiration. Subsequent to that I did not wash my hands but touched some stuff in my freezer which are cold and moist. Does this make my freezer and its contents napaak?

A. Since there is no way now of categorically stating whether the moisture was urine or perspiration, the ihtiyaat (caution) in this case is to assume that it was urine and regard your hands to have been napaak after touching the moisture.

The items which you touched and those which are in contact with the touched items should be washed to ensure that they are free from napaaki (impurity).

And Allah Ta’ala knows best.
