Month of Shabaan
Sayyiduna Usamah ibn Zayd رضي الله عنهما reported:
I said, “O Messenger of Allah, I do not see you fasting any month as much as you fast during Sha’baan.”
The Nabi of Allah ﷺ said, “It is a month people neglect between the months of Rajab and Ramadan. It is a month in which the deeds are raised to the Rabb of the worlds and I like for my deeds to be raised while I am fasting.”
(Sunan Nasai; Al Mujtaba, Hadith: 2357)
Sayyiduna Anas رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ says: ‘When Sha’baan would commence, the Muslims (Sahabah and Tabi’un) would dedicate themselves to the recital of the Quraan.’ (Lataiful Ma’arif, pg.258)
It was narrated from Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari Radiallahu Anhu that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
“Allah looks down on the night of the fifteenth of Shaaban and forgives all his creation except a mushrik or one who harbors hatred against the Muslims.” Narrated by Ibn Maajah. (The “one who harbors hatred against the Muslims” means one who has enmity towards a Muslim brother.)
