AI “Shaikh” can never, ever possess `Ilm

Malaysia’s first AI preacher stirs debate on Islamic principles : The launch of artificial intelligence-powered Islamic preachers has raised questions in Malaysia over the technology’s potential to distort local Islamic teachings and undermine the role of qualified scholars.
In Malaysia, where Islam is the state religion, religious discourse is tightly regulated and preachers must obtain official credentials and strictly adhere to state-sanctioned interpretations of the faith – or risk infringing sharia court rulings of “deviant teachings”.

But AI avatars are on the rise, including “AI-Dr Munir” and “AI-Dr Munirah”, which are trained on more than 9,000 published articles by former Islamic affairs minister and Kuala Lumpur mufti Zulkifli Mohamad Al-Bakri and built using ChatGPT.

Response:

Regarding the invention of “AI Shaikhs”, some people might not understand why it’s a baatil invention that can only result in dhalaal, so we will just mention one important point here, In Shaa Allaah.

Imaam Maalik رحمة الله عليه used to say:

ليس العلم بكثرة الرواية، وإنما هو نور يضعه الله في القلب

“`Ilm is not about being able to narrate a lot (of Ahaadeeth); rather, `Ilm is a Noor which Allaah places in the heart.” [Sifatus Safwah]

In other words, having an excellent memory and being able to quote Ahaadeeth, masaa’il, etc., from memory, whilst mentioning the sources, and even volume number, page number, etc., isn’t `Ilm. Rather, all of that is ma`loomaat (information).

`Ilm is something else entirely. `Ilm is this special Noor which Allaah Ta`aalaa casts into the heart of a true `Aalim, an `Aalim of Haqq, and through this Noor he is able to differentiate between Haqq and baatil, and through this Noor, at all times and in all situations, he knows exactly what Allaah Ta`aalaa would want must be done.

A ChatGPT-powered AI “Shaikh” can never, ever possess `Ilm. Undoubtedly, it can possess more ma`loomaat (information) than any person, but ma`loomaat cannot guide – only `Ilm can do that.

An `Aalim isn’t someone who simply quotes a mas’alah from a kitaab, like a parrot. Quoting technicalities from kitaabs is what the Ulamaa-e-Soo and Celebrity Shaikhs are fond of doing, and through which they mislead people.

For example, during the Covid satanism saga, they misled the masses by quoting Fiqhi technicalities from the Kutub:

“Technically, Salaah is valid while wearing a mask.”

“Technically, Salaah is valid even if there are gaps in the sufoof.”

“Technically, a person is allowed to stay away from jamaat in the Masjid in X, Y, Z cases.”

Like this, they pulled out some technicalities from the Kutub in order to justify blatant kufr – in order to justify shutting down Masaajid, changing the Divinely Legislated form of Salaah, rejecting the Sunnah, etc.

An `Aalim, on the other hand, who has been granted this “Noor”, would understand that none of those technicalities had any application here, and that this was a deliberate attack on Islaam and the world at large led by satanist Fauci, satanist Bill Gates and the rest of them, and today, what’s the situation? Satanist Fauci himself claims he doesn’t even know where all of those ridiculous “protocols” came from. He claims they “just sort of appeared”.

Ulamaa-e-Soo changed the Deen of Allaah Ta`aalaa for the sake of some baseless “protocols that just sort of appeared”. They encouraged people to take the Covid vaccine and countless either died or suffered severe physical and mental health consequences from it.

Now, you can test this out: ask Meta AI, Grok, Gemini, etc., about Covid vaccines, Jihaad, Khilaafah, abiding by Covid protocols, interfaith, etc., and see what answers you get. The answers you’re going to get are exactly what the Ulamaa-e-Soo preach. The reason behind this is simple: these AI-bots referred to as “AI Shuyookh” give their “fataawaa” by scouring the internet to find out what is the “majority view”. Since the majority are in favour of Covid vaccines, they give the “fatwaa” that you must take the vaccine. Since the majority are in favour of interfaith, their “fatwaa” is that interfaith is important in Islaam, and so on and so forth.

“AI Shuyookh” are inherently flawed. Their criterion for right and wrong is “majority opinion”. The criterion of an `Aalim of Haqq is the Sharee`ah. Through the Noor that Allaah Ta`aalaa places in the heart of an `Aalim of Haqq, he knows what it is that Allaah Ta`aalaa would want from people in a given situation, and he issues his fatwaa accordingly. AI can never do that, no matter how much it advances.
