PREPARING FOR THE FINAL MEETING

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

“O you who believe! Spend from what We have given you before the Day comes when there will be no bargaining, no friendship, and no one can intercede for another (without Allah’s permission).” (al-Baqarah: 254)

Fazaaile Sadaqaat 9

Note: It means that there will be no selling or buying on that Day to help you buy good deeds from others, nor will there be any friend to talk to Allah Ta’ala on your behalf. In short, all types of help will be stopped. If anything is to be done for that Day, now is the time to do it and to plant the seed. That Day shall be the day of harvest.

Whatever is planted shall be plucked, whether it is grain or flower, thorn or firewood!

So, what are we planting?

Our life should not just be about the “now,” but about what comes next. The wise traveler prepares for the journey, aware that arrival at the destination is inevitable.

How many of us confuse the journey with the destination? We build palaces, accumulate wealth, and seek power, but all of that will be left behind.

The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) wisely advised: “Be in this world as a stranger or a traveler” (Al-Bukhari). The true traveler does not allow himself to be distracted by the scenery but remains focused on the destination.

The journey is short, and the destination is certain. Therefore, let our focus be on attaining the Creator’s mercy, planting good deeds, and living in submission to Him.

May our time in this world be a preparation for a glorious reunion in the Eternal Life.
