‘Shall I not inform you of the best of you from your worst?'” He said: “They became silent, so he said that three times, then a man said: ‘Of course, O Messenger of Allah! Inform us of the best among us from our worst.’
He said: ‘The best of you is the one whose goodness is hoped for (people have hope in attaining some goodness from him), and people are safe from his evil.
And the worst of you is he whose goodness is not hoped for (people have no hope in attaining any goodness from him), and people are not safe from his evil.'”

THE DUNYA
Rasulullah Sallallahu alaihi wa Sallam said:
“This world is a prison for the Mu’min and the Jannat of the kaafir.”
Comment: The Mu’min [Believer] has shunned delights and faced up to hardships [in this world]. He is, therefore, like in a prison. The kaafir on the other hand is freely engaged in pleasures and entertainment. This world is, therefore, like Jannat to him. (Mirqaat)

Narrated Abu Huraira Radiallahu Anhu:
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “Time will pass rapidly, good deeds will decrease, miserliness will be thrown (in the hearts of the people) afflictions will appear and there will be much ‘Al-Harj.” They said, “O Allah’s Apostle! What is “Al-Harj?” He said, “Killing! Killing!”

Hakim bin Hizam Radiallahu Anhu reported Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam having said this:
The most excellent Sadaqa or the best of Sadaqa is that after giving which the (giver) remains rich and the upper hand is better than the lower hand, and begin from the members of your household.
Muslim Shareef
It has been narrated on the authority of Ibn ‘Umar that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said:
Beware! every one of you is a shepherd and everyone is answerable with regard to his flock. The Caliph is a shepherd over the people and shall be questioned about his. A man is a guardian over the members of his family and shall be questioned about. A woman is a guardian over the household of her husband and his children and shall be questioned about them. A slave is a guardian over the property of his master and shall be questioned about. Beware, every one of you is a guardian and every one of you shall be questioned with regard to his trust.

PRAYER IN CONGREGATION IS ONE OF THE SUNNAH OF GUIDANCE AND THE IMPORTANCE OF SALAAH
Abdullah bin Mas’ud Radiallahu Anhu reported:
He who would like to meet Allah tomorrow as Muslim, he should persevere and be on guard with regard to observing these prayers (Salaah), when the call is announced for them (Athaan), for Allah has ordained for your Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam the paths of right guidance, and these (prayers) are among the paths of right guidance.
If you were to pray in your houses as this man who stays away (from the mosque) and prays in his house, you would abandon the practice (Sunnah) of your Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, and if you were to abandon the practice (Sunnah) of your Nabi Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam, you would go astray.
No man purifies himself (makes Wudhu), doing it well, then makes for one of those mosques without Allah recording a blessing for him for every step he takes and raising him a stage for it, and effacing a sin from him for it.
I have seen the time when no one stayed away from it (Salaah), except a hypocrite, who was well known for his hypocrisy, whereas a man would be brought swaying (due to weakness) between two men till he was set up in the saff.

FASTING BEFORE RAMADAN AND FOLLOWING THE SIGHTED CRESCENT OF THE MOON, NOT THE CRESCENT SIGHTED IN MAKKAH OR MADINAH SHAREEFAIN NOR SCIENTIFIC CALCULATIONS
Narrated Abu Huraira Radiallahu Anhu that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “None of you should fast a day or two before the month of Ramadan unless he has the habit of fasting (Nawafil) (and if his fasting coincides with that day) then he can fast that day.”
Bukhari Shareef
It was narrated that Rib’ee Radiallahu Anhu said that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: ‘When you see the crescent then fast, and when you see it, then stop fasting. If it is too cloudy then complete Shaban as thirty days, unless you see the crescent before that, then fast Ramadan as thirty days, unless you see the new crescent before that.”‘
Nasa’I Shareef
Kuraib Radiallahu Anhu narrated that Umm Al-Fadl sent him to Muawiyah Radiallahu Anhu in Ash-Sham. Kuraib Radiallahu Anhu said: “I came to Ash-Sham and I completed her errand. Then the new crescent of Ramadan was sighted while I was in Ash-Sham. I saw the new crescent on the night of Friday, then I came to Al-Madinah at the end of the month (of Ramadan). ‘Abdullah bin ‘Abbas Radiallahu Anhuma asked me about the sighting of the moon and said: ‘ When did you see it?’ I said: ‘We saw it on the night of Friday.’ He said; ‘You saw it on the night of Friday?’ I said: ‘Yes, and the people saw it and started fasting, and so did Muawiyah Radiallahu Anhu (in Ash-Sham). He said: ‘But we saw it on the night of Saturday, so we will continue fasting until we have completed thirty days or we see it.’ I said: ‘Will you not be content with the sighting of Muawiyah Radiallahu Anhu and his companions?

Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu said:
Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “Do you know what is backbiting?” The Companions said: “Allah and His Messenger know better.” Thereupon he said, “Backbiting is talking about your (Muslim) brother in a manner which he dislikes.” It was said to him: “What if my (Muslim) brother is as I say.” He said, “If he is actually as you say, then that is backbiting; but if that is not in him, that is slandering.”

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah Radiallahu Anhu, who said that the Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said:
Allah (mighty and sublime be He) said: Whosoever shows enmity to someone devoted to Me, I shall be at war with him. My servant draws not near to Me with anything more loved by Me than the religious duties I have enjoined upon him, and My servant continues to draw near to Me with supererogatory works so that I shall love him. When I love him I am his hearing with which he hears, his seeing with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes and his foot with which he walks. Were he to ask [something] of Me, I would surely give it to him, and were he to ask Me for refuge, I would surely grant him it. I do not hesitate about anything as much as I hesitate about [seizing] the soul of My faithful servant: he hates death and I hate hurting him.

Ibn `Abbas Radiallahu Anhu reported:
The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) used to teach us Tashahhud just as he used to teach us a Surah of the Qur’an, and he would say:
“All services rendered by words, acts of worship, and all good things are due to Allah. Peace be upon you, O Nabi (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), and Allah’s mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and upon Allah’s upright servants. I testify that there is no god but Allah, and I testify that Muhammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam), is the Messenger of Allah.”

Abu Hurairah Radiallahu Anhu narrated that the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said:
“DO you know who the bankrupt is?” They said: “O Messenger of Allah! The bankrupt among us is the one who has no Dirham nor property.” The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said: “The bankrupt in my Ummah is the one who comes with Salat and fasting and Zakat on the Day of Judgement, but he comes having abused this one, falsely accusing that one, wrongfully consuming the wealth of this one, spilling the blood of that one, and beating this one. So he is seated, and this one is requited from his rewards. If his rewards are exhausted before the sins that he committed are requited, then some of their sins will be taken and cast upon him, then he will be cast into the Fire.”

The Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) said “Both halal and haram things are obvious, and in between them are (suspicious) doubtful matters. So whoever forsakes those doubtful things lest he may commit a sin, will definitely avoid what is clearly illegal; and whoever indulges in these (suspicious) doubtful things bravely, is likely to commit what is clearly illegal. When the Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam came to Medina, he found (the Jews) fasting on the day of ‘Ashura’ (i.e. 10th of Muharram). They used to say: “This is a great day on which Allah saved Moosa Alayhis salaam and drowned the folk of Firoun. Moosa Alayhis salaam observed the fast on this day, as a sign of gratitude to Allah.” Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam said, “I am closer to Moosa Alayhis salaam than they are.” So, he observed the fast (on that day) and ordered the Muslims to fast on it.

When the latter needed water, they had to go up to bring water (and that troubled the others), so they said, ‘Let us make a hole in our share of the ship (and get water) saving those who are above us from troubling them. So, if the people in the upper part left the others do what they had suggested, all the people of the ship would be destroyed, but if they prevented them, both parties would be safe.”
